Dog days

Right now, I really miss my puppy. Although she sometimes drives me nuts, Rosie is such a happy, bouncy bundle of unconditional love. It would have been totally impractical to try to bring her out here to live with me, but I really miss taking her for walks and watching her hilarious tail-chasing antics.
But I did have the pleasure yesterday of being accepted by the resident shy cat, Zoe, who gave me the honor of petting her from an arms length for a good five or ten minutes. She's a sweetie, and I will take animal love where I can get it!

Bikram's Yoga: Take 2

Today I am proud to say that I made it all the way through a Bikram's Yoga class here in Lynchburg! After my last disastrous attempt, it felt great to make it through the whole class! I did (of course) have to sit down a few times and I couldn't quite do all of the postures, but I really did enjoy it! I am hoping I got rid of a lot of toxins, because it was soooo sweaty!!
I loved the Bikram's studio here in Lynchburg, it was beautiful and the instructors were beautiful and sweet. I bought a 7 day pass, so I'm hoping to go back as many times as I can in the next week! Since I am missing my first soccer season basically ever, it felt great to finally get some really intense exercise. Thanks, Arielei, for making me go!
(Seriously, this girl did awesome at yoga. Please don't kill me in my sleep for posting this picture ;)

{b&w}

It's a black and white kind of day.
Have a shiny, curvaceous stairs,
luxurious black and white curtains and chandeliers,
chic, glamorous outfits kind of Thursday!

Courage

I need to be really brave this week.
I like the idea that choosing to be happy is actually courageous.

Have a happy, courageous Wednesday!

Katsucon!

That's right, folks, I am here to display just how much of a geek I truly am. Over the weekend, Phillip and I attended Katsucon at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center. Phillip had a photography assignment that required a picture of a "character," so we headed down to get some good character shots.
And it. was. awesome.
Everybody was so excited to have their photo taken!
I loved this girl. Her hair was crazy!
Anastasia is one of my very favorite Princesses!
Phillip knows who this is. Do you?
The queen of hearts was really cool!
More black and red coolness.
Since I'm not a huge anime fan, I didn't recognize a lot of the characters. I did, however, recognize these awesome X-Men costumes! This Wolverine costume was legit. Very, very realistic.
Mystique was also really realistic. I didn't get a great picture of it, but her eyes were yellow!
I just watched How to Train Your Dragon the other day, and I loved it! This person in the Toothless costume was super dedicated.
Her entire dress was made of Duck Tape.
As I was leaving, I saw this Peep. Seriously, best costume ever!
Would you ever go to this type of convention? And more importantly, would you dress up? Leave me a comment telling me your dream costume!

Neon makes me smile

This room makes me smile.
I love the bright, bright colors. Neon is kind of trendy right now.
Do you love it or hate it?

Happy Valentines Day!

I know V-Day is almost over, but I finally have a moment to sit down with my computer! I hope you had a good Valentines Day, even if you are single and didn't have any "romance."
My day was perfect, if only because I got to spend the majority of it with my husband! He was allowed to bring me along on a field trip to the Newseum, a museum about news and journalism. It was a really neat place. There were pieces of the Berlin wall, a 9-11 exhibit, an exhibit with all of the Pulitzer Prize winning photographs, and an Elvis exhibit, to name just a few!
Phillip and I even got to have dinner together! We had a super romantic meal at Five Guys Burgers. That's kind of what happens when you don't know ahead of time if you can be together. Reservations and nice restaurants are so overrated!
Phillip gave me a really sweet card, a big box of Ghirardelli chocolates (my very first heart-shaped box of chocolates that didn't come from my daddy), and a beautiful necklace! I am so spoiled. I gave him a card and Inception. He is less spoiled. ;) I love you honey!

I'll update all you lovely blog followers on the exciting new adventures of my life in the near future! I hope you had a fabulous day! I love you all!

It's Friday...

I have all the reason in the world to dance today! I have finally made it to Maryland and will be spending tonight, and hopefully every successive Friday night, with my husband!
I hope you have a fabulously happy weekend! I know I will!

Right about now...

By day three, we are both getting a little tired, but the end is not quite in sight. I think I speak for both of us when I say that this bed (or any bed, really) is looking awfully good right now!

So far, so good!

This is by far the longest road trip I've ever taken. Google told me the time it would take in days, not hours! Thats 1 day and 7 hours of driving time, not counting stops! That's 31 hours. Not counting traffic, weather, and stops. Not counting a few minor detours to visit friends and relatives. Not counting Starbucks drive through lines. This is a long, long trip.
The longest trip I've ever taken before involved a trip to Johnson City, TN, which took 3 days, followed by a trip from there through St. Louis, then to Wyoming, and finally back to Albuquerque. That trip involved all of my siblings, a lot of fussing/crying/screaming, a sister who got out of the car at a gas station about 2 hours from our destination and refused to get back in, and eventually a broken down vehicle in the middle of a Wyoming snow storm and a can of sterno on the dashboard of the van we were towing and about fifteen people piling into one suburban.
Hopefully, none of those crazy things will happen on this trip. I am so happy to have my wonderful Dad with me to keep me company and take turns driving!
I hope the middle of your week is flying by! Have a great day!

Beginnings

Today I am starting a four day road trip with my dad across the country. We're driving out to Maryland to move me and all of my clothes closer to Phillip.
Today is a great day to wave goodbye to my normal life and begin a new adventure.

Leopard

Just another post about how much I love leopard print!
At first I thought those stair were ridiculous...but they're starting to grow on me!
I have a million chores to finish and my entire wardrobe to pack before I leave town tomorrow, so I'm off to make an attempt at productivity!
Have a fantastic Monday!

P.S. It is my precious nephew's birthday! Happy Birthday, buddy!
