Happy {hopeful} Weekend!

It's finally the weekend, and it has taken it's sweet time getting here! I woke up with the flu on Monday, and am barely shaking it off today because I have too many hopes for the weekend! Having a fever for days on end sure does make the time drag. I've made myself completley sick of tea and consoled myself with Pride and Prejudice and pumpkin muffins.
My in-laws are coming to town tonight, and tomorrow we'll be tailgating with my grandparents in the freezing cold at the Air Force v. Navy game. To that end I have just finished making baked beans for the first time ever. They smell good, but I also over-filled my crock pot. Oh well.
In other news, we woke up this morning to the first snow of the season! It wasn't much, but it was pretty while it lasted! I have a fresh loaf of chocolate chip pumpkin bread to take to small group toinght, and beautiful fall flowers on my dining room table. Things are definitely looking up!
I hope you have a wonderfully hopeful weekend!!

  1. If the beans turn out great, please share the recipe (even email if you prefer). I've tried baked beans from scratch several times and can't find a good recipe. Get to feeling better soon. It sounds like you're doing all the right stuff (pumpkin, P&P, tea). The only thin I might have added would be hours of Downton Abby....
