Inspired by {cobalt place settings}

On my last trip to Albuquerque, I picked up several boxes from my mom's house.
Inside one or two were a set of dishes I've had (supposedly in my hope chest) for probably fifteen years. My mom bought me these gorgeous blue and white willow ware dishes when I was just a little girl. I used to sneak into the room where they were being stored and pull out just one or two and day dream about what it would be like to be all grown up and married and setting my table with these fabulous dishes.
I completely forgot about them when I got married, and we registered for and received many other dishes. But I am so excited to have my original china in my house at last!
The look almost exactly like these dishes:

Aren't they fabulous! I can't wait to unpack them and wash them and set up my dining room table with these gorgeous blue and white beauties! I really love the organic feel of this table setting, the warm natural wood and woven place mats keep the blue and white from being too cool.
And how about these fabulous Hermes cups below? Heavenly!

My in-laws have a lot of clear cobalt glass dishware, and I really love looking at it all when I'm over there. It's another very fun take on the cobalt and natural table scheme that I'm absolutely dying over. I love that the picture above looks like it could be set on top of brown paper, and yet it looks so classy!
Now to get some vintage gold flatware, and I'll be all set!
What do your dream dishes look like?

  1. That is such a cute story about your hope chest china! I just love that you get to use them now :-D
    Also I have to admit that I love my mom's clear glass set as well. Blue would never work in my house but they are great to look at.
    My favorite plate color is black or white because it really makes the food pop! No distractions, just food. Thankfully that is what I have. Now all I need to do is learn how to plate beautifully and I will be set. lol
