When I packed up my house and moved last January, I went through my entire house and tried to de-clutter. I got rid of so much stuff, from decorating items to pots and pans and excess books. And I was fairly ruthless in my closet. I got rid of loads of shoes, clothes that didn't fit well or hadn't been worn in a long time, and anything I thought was unflattering. In the process, I seem to have gotten rid of all my full or flowy skirts! This fall, I'm rediscovering my love of flowy skirts, and I'm quite disappointed that I don't seem to own any that will work to pull together an outfit resembling one of these. I think I hear the thrift store calling my name!
Have you ever gotten rid of something and then desperately wanted it back?

  1. ummm...I just got rid of all my favorite clothes from college and I miss them desperately...but they didn't actually fit me anymore. I remember one sleeveless olive green sweater than I owned that I absolutely LOVED and I think I decided it was too loose and got rid of it and now I am so sad because I know it would fit me now...;-(

  2. Remember when the giant dumpster was in our backyard? I have never thrown away a personal note or letter from any human being, ever. One day I got to feeling overwhelmed & ruthless & scooped up a box of correspondance I marched out to the yard, heaved it skyward, and let out a despairing "AAAARGH as I watched ten years of
my history flutter into the dark depths. I think there were letters from my dad in there! Never again.p.s.come on down & let's go thrift store shopping!
