So, to make up for my absence last week, I am here to update you on the progress of my house! It's not very often that I manage to take and upload decent pictures for the blog, but I'm going to try to upload some pictures of progress around the house on a weekly basis. Today's post is focused on my living room. Allow me to introduce you to my very favorite new possession. My new rug. Seriously, you all, I am in love!
I had been thinking that we needed some rugs to put down in the house to protect all of the white carpet, which is seriously everywhere and seriously scares me. I don't know how to handle spills and dogs and husband's with muddy boots! This is exactly completely one hundred percent exactly the rug I was dreaming of. I absolutely love the colors, the style, the size, and even the stains/wear that prove that it's vintage! I found this beauty at a consignment store a few miles from my house and couldn't believe the price! Seriously I am ecstatic about this rug.
But. Moving on, I will now show you the whole living room with furniture in it! Aren't you excited?
Here is the rug with all the furniture on it. Lookee there, I even hung a few pictures on the walls! I actually tried to hang more on the walls above the red chair, but I need something else from Home Depot.
And now, for some close-ups of a few of my other favorite new acquisitions...
My mother in law made me these gorgeous leopard print and black velvet pillows. They are soft and lovely and exactly what I wanted. Yay!
And my mom bought me this beautiful TV stand/dresser for a birthday/housewarming gift. Isn't it the warmest, prettiest red? Can you tell from the picture that the handles are shaped like moths?! I love it!
So there you have it. A small tour of my living room. Of course, it doesn't really look like this any more. Since these photos were taken, we've covered the coffee table with laptops and water glasses and then moved it across the room to make space for us to play kinect. So picture it messier, and you'll know right where to picture me most of the time!
Tune in next time for pictures of my guest room! (unless something goes terribly, unavoidably wrong. ;) )
