I've been making a big effort to go to bed earlier and get up earlier this week. You all have probably experienced the wide-awake "go to sleep! go to sleep!" feeling, where you try to convince yourself that you are sleepy when you're really not. Well every night this week I've struggled to get to sleep, only to feel exhausted when it's time to get up in the morning. And by the time I get off work, I just want to throw myself onto my couch or bed and snooze.
Last night, the problem was compounded by the neighbor's dogs, who have a habit of barking loudly for hours at a time while we're trying to sleep. They were being especially stubborn and obnoxious last night, and the results (sleep-wise) were not pretty. We've been trying to solve the barking dog problem for months, and so far have made no progress. I'm afraid that one of the next steps will have to be mediation or even civil court. YUCK!
But on the up side, I have been getting to work earlier this week than I did last week. And I've also gotten to enjoy the absolutely delightful early morning scent in our yard. Albuquerque may have its' flaws, but it almost always smells great.
Have you ever dealt with a major neighborhood disagreement like barking dogs etc? Were you able to solve the problem amicably? At this point, I need all the advice I can get!
