Stacks of Books

Happy Monday, everybody! I hope you had a fantastic weekend! I know I did, although the weekend's never long enough!
Yesterday I purchased my first ebook. I was pretty excited about the immediacy of it, since the book I wanted was out of stock at every bookstore across town, and I didn't want to wait on shipping. However, I'm thinking that staring at my laptop(since I don't have a fancy schmancy ebook reader) may hurt my eyes a bit after a while. Plus, I can't take my laptop everywhere I could take a book. So really, what I'm trying to say is, there's nothing like a real, physical, paper book. Books are just so pretty!
I'm loving these images of staired and stacked books, impractical as they may be. And I can't wait to get home from work and finish reading my new ebook. But then I will probably go back to good old hardcopies. Unless I get too impatient again. I'll keep you posted.

  1. I love reading REAL books...the crackle of new paper, the smell of ink, the beautiful leather and gold embossed cover of a fancy book, or the plain and deeply creased covers of a well-loved and often-read paperback...it doesn't feel like reading unless you have to turn the pages with your hands. The printed word may be unpopular at the moment among our uncouth and illiterate generation but it will always be timeless..."we few, we happy few" shall preserve it!

  2. I LOVE real books! Especially the ones you buy from a used book store. I love that they have already been enjoyed by another and then passed on for another to encounter. Also a used book really does smell wonderful
